Cordyceps sinensis is a Chinese fungus traditionally grown on the bodies of caterpillars, but now cultivated on special media. Cordyceps was popularized in the World Outdoor Track and Field Championship in 1993 for it's outstanding effects on Chinese athletes who broke 9 world records. All athletes were consuming a cordyceps based tonic as part of their daily regime.
